...with info on the Truvativ HammerSchmidt. The crankset won’t fit any bike without ISCG 05 or 03 chain guide mounts. The HammerSchmidt uses a special shifter that looks the same as a normal X0 or X9 shifter but work in reverse of normal shifters, you push the main lever to get into the normal gear which works has a 1:1 ratio so you pedal once and the chainring goes round once. You then release the shifter and it moves into the higher Overdrive gear which is a 1:1.6 ratio - meaning you pedal once and the chainring goes round 1.6 times. That’s the equivalent of a 22/36 or 24/38 double chainring crankset depending on the version you choose. It runs the Howitzer BB and the crank arms are based on the Stylo for the AM version and Holzfeller for the FR version with your choice of chain and rear gearing. Supposedly the HammerSchmidt has many benefits but more clearance, shifting when pedalling or not and everything being internal are some of the big ones. Prices are around $750-800, weight is about 172g more than a Stylo crankset, front mech and chain guide for the AM version.
