Syncros FL stem review

This was my third choice, it took a month to get here and the distributor sent the wrong stem the first time but I think it‘s well worth the trouble. As far as aesthetics go I’m liking the bi-oval shape, minimalist face plate and white grunge artwork a lot. If you’re not happy with the colour then there’s also black grunge and plain white or black. The finish seems really tough, any wear and tear wouldn‘t show up on white anyway. In fact I’m starting to go off black frames and components because all the rub marks, scratches and dirt show up so clearly. The clamp bolts are deep, tight, solid and there isn’t any noticeable rust after a couple of washes and wet rides. That’s a big improvement over instantly rusting Race Face bolts and incredibly soft aluminium bolts from manufacturers like Hayes. There aren’t any sharp edges to cause problems with clamping on carbon steerers or handlebars…not that I’ve got any carbon components. Stiffness is impressive considering it weighs under 130g and there’s noticeable flex from much heavier Race Face stems that aren’t much longer, possibly due to a larger clamping area than with the Race Face stems. This is a really great product, for the money I don’t think there’s anything better.
