It has taken me since my third ride on the Swift to track down this problem due to it being rather hard to replicate and not finding any noticeable damage. Wiping away the grime on the bash ring it became apparent that this is yet another product combination from Sram that isn’t as compatible as they would like us to believe. Sram and Truvativ are basically the same company and both of these products are specifically designed to work together. Yet the longer gold link pins on the PC-1 singlespeed chain scrape the bash ring on the Stylo singlespeed cranks. There isn’t enough space between the chainring and bash ring for the gold link pins to pass by without touching, or coming very close to doing so. Truvativ may have fixed this on the new OCT Stylo cranks but perhaps they should look into this issue if they haven’t. Then their customers can get on with riding rather than modifying components to work together properly…
